How To Keep Track of Unemployment Benefits Reporting Information

How To Keep Track of Unemployment Benefits Reporting Information When I lost my job I didnt want to file for unemployment benefits.  I thought I would have a job before my unemployment insurance (aka, the weekly check I got from the state) would kick in.  Plus, it was only a few hundred bucks per week, if I remember right. But I did.  I took the time to apply. As days of unemployment turned into weeks, and then months, I was glad for that few hundred dollars here and there.  It wasnt close to replacing my previous income, but it saved my family. In Utah, I had to report every week that I was in a real job search.  Among other things, I had to say that I had made contact with two new (new-to-me) companies every week.  In other words, in order for the state to give me money each week, I had to show that I wasnt just sitting around watching TV. Personally, I felt only making contact with two new companies a week was a very weak requirement, but I wasnt about to argue with the State. My job search spreadsheet was the tool I relied on, in case I got audited.  I never got audited, and of the hundreds of job seekers I met, none of them told about being audited.  Im not sure how common auditing is now, but it wasnt common when I was filing. Theres a better way, now, to track what you are doing in a job search, if you are filing for unemployment insurance. When you use JibberJobber to organize and track your job search, your activities show up in an unemployment report. Simply click on Report, then the first menu option is called the Unemployment Report (make sure you choose the time frame from the drop down). This report shows you what companies you are contacting, and what kind of contact you are making (submitting a resume, going to an interview, etc.).  Im guessing it contains the information any auditor would want to see. This is a free report (used to be Premium).  All you have to do is use JibberJobber to track your activities in your job search More information: The Texas Workforce Commission wants you to keep a work search log, which you can find online. They say: TWC requires that you actively search for work to be eligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits. TWC may request your work search log anytime during your benefit year to verify your work search activities. If TWC cannot verify your work search activities, you could be held ineligible for unemployment insurance benefits for the requested week. Heres an article from the lawmakers in Tennessee, who want job seekers collecting UI benefits to be more accountable.  You get the typical rhetoric from heavies like Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, who says: Anecdotally, we’re pretty confident there’s a lot of folks who aren’t doing that. They’re just sitting at home collecting their benefits.  Right after that you read they are apparently sending UI money to people who are in jail, because they havent redefine[d] “misconduct” that  disqualifies workers from benefits and ban people who are incarcerated from collecting unemployment while behind bars.  Oops.  The point is, though, there might be more stringent reporting requirements. Dental Receptionist Resume and Assistant Resume Differences

Dental Receptionist Resume and Assistant Resume DifferencesA dental receptionist resume is very different from a dental assistant resume. A dental receptionist is not involved in patient care but instead, acts as a liaison between the dental office and the insurance company. There are many areas where the receptionist is different than an assistant.Dental receptionist jobs require several years of experience and training. The goal is to create a professional and useful resume that will give employers a clear understanding of the individual's goals, experience, and skills. It is not necessary to specialize in any one area. The skill set that most job applicants possess is in adequate to fill any position. The degree of trust that the employer has for the dental receptionist is a large part of his or her confidence in allowing the individual to work in the dentist's office. The position is also a vital connection between the dentist and his or her patients. Keeping the clients happy and satisfied is what keeps the dentist in business.Another important factors to consider when writing a dental receptionist resume is that the individual needs to be enthusiastic about the job. This will make them more successful when applying for the position, as well as maintain a positive attitude with the rest of the office staff. Rejection is a very common occurrence, so it is very important to remain positive in all situations. The key to being able to land a dental receptionist job is networking. Once an individual contacts the proper people, they can find out if they are needed. Most likely, the office does not have a vacancy and is only looking for a candidate who will fit in well. So the best way to get the job is by finding out who the office is looking for and contacting them. There are many things that can set a dental receptionist apart from an assistant. The receptionist will provide services such as: billing, making appointments, communicating with patients, offering to help when needed, answering the phones, scheduling patients, and keeping lists. For an assistant to understand the responsibilities of the job, they should have some medical background in order to fill out paperwork correctly. The dental assistant needs to know what the appointment needs to be scheduled for, what type of service to offer, and who will be covered under the plan.If a person already has experience in a dental office and would like to learn how to perform the dental assistant duties, then a dental receptionist resume is an excellent place to start. Many schools offer programs that allow a person to take courses toward the certification necessary for the position. In addition, the education helps with the resume because it is usually tailored towards the medical field. Any degree from a college or university will always be listed as an additional qualification on the dental receptionist resume. These are some of the major differences between a dental receptionist resume a nd an assistant resume. With experience, the individual can enhance the skills they need to land a great job.

7 Signs Its Time to Reinvent Your Personal Brand - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

7 Signs Its Time to Reinvent Your Personal Brand - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Last week, I read Dorie Clarks Reinventing You with great interest; its a relevant book for anyone interested in personal branding success. Reinventing You, subtitled Define Your Brand, Imagine Your Future, Reinventing You offers a step-by-step guide for evaluating your current brand, your career goals, and the branding success strategies that will help you achieve your goals. Each chapter focuses on a different stage in reinventing yourself. Each chapter describes the tasks involved, with examples from Dories previous clients which span all levels, from burned-out veterinarians to successful CEOs. There are also specific tips associated with each stage. Knowing when its time to reinvent yourself One of my favorite sections was the list in Chapter 1 describing signs you should reinvent yourself professionally. Signs that its time to reinvent yourself, in Dories words (with my introductions)   include: Rebirth. Youre at a new phase in life and you want to be known for something different. Rebound. Youve been laid off and need to ensure youre in the best position possible to land a new job quickly. Advancement. You want to move up in your company and you need to take control of your reputation. Misconceptions. Youve been trying to win a promotion, but feel youre being held back by misconceptions about what youre capable of. New challenges. Youd like to move into a different area of your company, perhaps from legal to human resources, or from sales to finance. Youth. Youre just starting out in your career and havent build up a powerful resume yet, so you need to find another way to stand out. Career change. Youre changing careers and need to make a compelling case that your unusual background is an asset, not a liability. The challenge of complacency Although Dories list covers just about every possible trigger to change, the biggest challenge is often complacency. Its too easyespecially in mid-summerto be complacent about the security of your job. Theres also the tendency to put off reinventing your personal brand when youre young and you have a steady paycheckand your friends are renting beach houses. Its too easy to think, Im young, theres always tomorrow! and put off the serious work of reinventing your personal brand for your future career success. However, the fortunes of many have changed dramatically since 2008. Those who have proactively built or changed their personal brands are better off. In many cases, though, the lifestyles of those who trusted in the security of their status quo may have been seriously compromised. For those who are ready for change, Reinventing You is a great guide to have along with you as you proceed through the various steps. As a bonus, the Appendix contains a 7-page Professional Reinvention Self-Assessment that can help you decide when and how to get started reinventing your brand. A note to those who want to write a book Do you want to write a book to build your personal brand? Reinventing You is an excellent model of writing a nonfiction book to build your personal brand by helping your readers achieve the change they want to achieve. (See Write Your Book to Help Readers Change.) Its a slim, concisely-written book with short, focused chapters. Frequent subheads guide the way. Chapter 1 is also an excellent model of beginning a book with a strong statement of purpose and an equally-strong statement of what the book is not about! Is it time for you to reinvent your personal brand? Are you taking daily steps now, or are you waiting till the fall or the first of the year? Share your comments or questions below, especially if youve already read Reinventing You. Author: Roger C. Parker offers advice, counsel, checklists, and worksheets to help you build your personal brand. 5+ Best HVAC Interview Questions Answers - Algrim.co

5+ Best HVAC Interview Questions Answers - Algrim.co If you are looking for HVAC interview questions, look no further. We’ve compiled the absolute best interview questions and answers to help you prepare for your upcoming interview in the construction industry. HVAC is a highly sought after industry as it’s common across The United States. HVAC helps to support the heating and air conditioning required for commercial and residential buildings. 5 HVAC Interview Questions & Answers 1. What is a duct? A duct is a ventilation pipe that transfers heating and air conditioning, usually through commercial or residential buildings. A duct can sometimes be exposed or it can be hidden underneath flooring. 2. What does HVAC stand for? HVAC stands for Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning. 3. If we were installing an air conditioning unit in a condominium complex, how would we get the unit on the top of the building? The most traditional route for being able to get a large commercial sized air conditioning unit onto the top of a building is to sub-contract a helicopter. They need to shut down the street during the delivery day in order to prevent any injuries that might happen from bystanders. Then the helicopter airlifts the unit to the top of the building. 4. Who is the foreman and what does he do? The foreman is the person on the job who is directing the teams and units for their individual projects on that given day, week and month. This is the person who ensures that the proper jobs are getting done, in the correct order, up to code, and in an efficient way. 5. Who would we communicate with regarding our progress in a commercial install? Once work is accomplished on a job site it must be communicated to the rest of the teams who are working on the building. For example, sometimes electrical workers will need to come into the building after the HVAC is complete. It depends on each commercial job site who needs to be communicated to. But generally speaking, it’s the rest of the companies who are working to get that commercial property up and running.

Starting at the Bottom, Working for the Best - CareerAlley

Starting at the Bottom, Working for the Best - CareerAlley We may receive compensation when you click on links to products from our partners. Winning isnt everything. Wanting to is. Elbert Green Hubbard Do you remember your very first job? Not the one where you worked in the supermarket, but the first job that you felt it was the beginning of your career. I remember my first job. This was the first job where I had to wear a suit, travel to the city and work in an office. I was really pumped. A few days into the job in my first late night, my bosss boss calls me into a big meeting with all of the big wigs. They needed my help (imagine!). So, on my way to get six coffees for these guys (in the pouring rain) I got my first lesson in what it means to add value and where I fit in the food chain. Whatever your first job and wherever you fit into your company, take aim at some of the best companies to work for. SAS Number 1 on the list two years in a row (their 14th year on the list) . The career page provides a brief overview of the company followed with a worldwide career search function by region. Clicking through your region will lead to country and then a choice of Professional Opportunities and Student Opportunities. There are links on the left hand side of the page (once you get to your country) for How To Apply, Benefits and more. Following on to job search will allow registration or sign-in. A quick search for the US returned 182 job opportunities. Boston Consulting Group Consulting company BCG is number 2 on the list up from last years list. A very well known and highly respected consulting firm, their career page has a number of links to learn about the company (like is BCG for me). Your can meet people who work for the company and pick a career path. Click How to Apply to fill out an online application or check out their college recruiting program if you are still in school. Wegmans Food Markets A perennial member of this list, is ranked 3 this year (same as last year). Wegmans is a 70+ food market store chain located primarily in the Northeast has over 39,000 employees. Theyve been on Fortunes list since 1998 and have been in the top 3 for the last 5 years. Their career site has tons of information on the company and what they are about (which is a very big part of what makes them one of the best companies to work for). This includes the reasons to work there, Diversity, Educational Initiatives and, of course, job listings. The job search is fairly basic, click apply now and you are on your way. Once you find a potential job you apply online. There were 531 job opportunities when I checked the site. Google Ranked 4th on the list (yes, again), their recruiting and interview process is legendary. Everyone has heard of Google, so not much else to say here. There Careers page has a brief overview (Lets Work Together) with links to each of their hiring locations. The left hand side of the page has additional related links. There doesnt seem to be one place where you can look at all of the job openings (you would think that Google would have a good search for this), so you will need to be selective in your search. NetApp Number 5 (up from number 7 on last years list), NetApp is a Technology company. Their career page provides a link for a company overview with tab links to Life at NetApp, Your Career, University Recruiting and Find a Job. You can click on Find a Job or open positions from the main page. Information on University Recruiting is available on the Careers tab (including New Grads, Events and Summer Interns). The Job Search tool returned 461 job opportunities across all of the companys locations. Good luck in your search.Visit me on Facebook

What to Wear to PoshFest 2016 3 Things to Consider when Prepping your PoshFest Outfits - Cubicle Chic

What to Wear to PoshFest 2016 3 Things to Consider when Prepping your PoshFest Outfits - Cubicle Chic What to Wear to PoshFest 2016? 3 Things to Consider when Prepping your PoshFest Outfits Home Life, Poshmark August 3, 2016 0 CommentsPoshFest is the annual conference for the fashion merchandising app call Poshmark.  I went to PoshFest 2015 in San Francisco last year and had a blast meeting many PFF’s (posh friends forever). It was a no brainer fore me when they announced that that this year’s PoshFest will be in October, and taking place in LA,  especially when it’s a  just 2 hour-drive from San Diego! To start planning for the trip, some of you may be thinking about your outfits already now that the event is 60 days away! I had the same concerns last year about what’s appropriate,  and was googling to no avail. So this year I decided to chime in as a PoshFest veteran.P.S. For those of you flying in, check out my post from last month on travel tips! There are three things to keep in mind when prepping your outfits for PoshFest 20161) You will be walking around quite a lot from the seminar sessions to the workshops! So keep your purses/handbags handy and relativ ely small, and heels comfortable! (4 inch heel or flats, whatever YOUR comfort level is!)2) Remember to incorporate your brand! Whether you have a retail closet, a blog, or a company you own, remember to let your outfit speak about the brand you represent!3) Bright colors Dark colors. This is kind of a personal opinion, but I do think lighter color (think whites, light gray, beige, and any other bright colors) outfits tend to make you stand out more, and therefore more memorable!Below are three inexpensive outfits I came up with that will keep your ensemble chic and your impression on-fleek!P.S.
